By this I mean why do we say Video games, TV and music get blamed for the faults of the Parents not having time to spend with there Kids.

Because our society has deemed that a particular person is not at fault and can blame everything else around for their problems so long as the blame doesn't land where it is supposed to which is on that person's shoulders. Basically, Americans don't want to take responsibility for any, because its now considered and expected that you will pass responsibility on to someone or something else. We are all victims. Is very sad and pathetic.

It's not just America that has this problem. It has become much more prevalent to blame someone else for our problems.
This generation has quickly discovered that you can blame someone else, and not be held responsible for your own actions. You can know sue if your coffee is too hot, or the 1/4 pounder from McDonald's makes you fat. It is no longer the responsibility of the individual.
We need to teach our children to take responsibility for their own actions. I realize that this will mean putting thousands of lawyers out of work, since we won't sue for every stupid thing that we do, but I'm ok with that......

I think a lot of its true. The parents are so busy working and keeping up with everyone else, there not involved enough to make a positive influence in their lives.

and for kids not wanting to be around the "old folks",..
either way in any age there will be an excuse to use if you
WANT/need to use one.
