I need a dress for a wedding I am in~ April 7th. I just had a baby, I need a larger size. I ordered a dress on Feb. 22 and was told that it was going to be in March 15. Well it is not in. I called the place I ordered it from... thedresshut.com, and he said the manufacturer is focusing on smaller sizes for prom. So I asked him, "Fat girls don't go to the prom?" He said bluntly, "yes." So, needless to say, I canceled my order and now I am frantically searching for the dress so that I will match the others in the wedding. So my question is, how many of you would order from a company like this... thedresshut.com?

Please pass the word onto others about my grief and aggravation!

Whether you just had a baby or not, that is ridiculous- think of how you would feel if you were just naturally that size! That is discrimination, and poor customer service. I would write a letter to the company if I were you- I bet the person you spoke with on the phone will get a nice talkin' to, and a well-deserved one at that. And, as a mother who recently gave birth as well, I can relate to your already sensitive nature about your weight. Don't worry girl, we'll work it off! :)

Wow... that's really disgusting. I'll know to never order a dress through there for my girls when they ever need one for prom. They are by far not heavy girls... but the thought that they were as rude and don't cater to the larger size is just rude.

That was rude! It doesnt matter if he has prom coming up or not, if your dress was ordered prior and had an arrival date, then it should have been there. No excuses and especially none to blatantly rude!
Good luck finding a dress in time hun. And congrats on the new baby!!

I would file a complaint with the company headquarters. If you cancelled and he took the cancellation order his name will be in the file.
If they gave you a date for shipment then that is the terms of the agreement.

Contact the better business bureau in your state and file a complaint based on weight discrimination. Also ask them who else could be involved to file a complaint with.

That was rude of him to say but he's just one person at a company of probably many people. You'll find rude people everywhere.
