I'm a CAD student, and I'm looking for a few drawings (.dwg files) that I can open with my AutoCAD and "play with". Not claim as my own, not publish anywhere, but just for learning purposes. Just to play with some tools in the toolbar and experiment with stuff.

Where can I find already-done drawings? Is there some sharing website or something?

If you did a full install when you installed CAD you should have several drawings already on your hard drive. Click "File" and "Open" and go to your AutoCad folder. Probably under C:/Program Files/AutoCad and then look for a folder called "SAMPLE". There are several drawings in that folder, both architectural and mechanical and even some 3D models.

You can also Google for autocad drawings, there are several sites out there that offer free downloads of ".DWG" and ".DXF" files that you could play around with.

If you email me direct at:

I'll send you a 3d drawing of an apartment that I lived in with furniture blocks and appliances.
