Depends on what the dress is made of. Nail varnish remover is good but it contains propanone (otherwise known as acetone) which can dissolve some synthetic fibres.
If it is dry cleanable this may be the best option.

No, and what's more, you can't use tip-ex to cover up an ink stain on a white shirt. I've tried.

had to be tippex i gave up and ended up using a perm black to cover my accident with the stuff i tried everything ,
TURPS,WHITE SPIRIT,NAIL POLISH REMOVER, EVEN BOUGHT A STAIN REMOVER IT DIDNT WORK ,VANISH I GAVE UP
