Depending on how old the computers are and if they're still usable, you might want to either contact your local recycling centre or donate them to some charity. Or if the parts are a mixture of old and newer parts, then you could salvage and donate some of them, while you send the rest for recycling.

Join your local Freecycle group! Post to their forum offering what you'd like to get rid of using an honest description and people will e-mail you back if they want it. You can determine if they come to you, if you want to meet them somewhere public (recommended for personal safety) or you can offer to drop it off.

To find a Freecycle group in your area go too:

In my area I often take non-functioning or just old PC's people don't want, fix them up, wipe their drives, reload their OS or more commonly load Linux on them ( Its free and I'm not paying 200.00 for a copy of Windows ) then repost them on Freecycle for people that need or want a PC and don't need the latest n' greatest.

contact your local authority and have it collected for recycling as the components in a computer contain harmfull chemicals if you put into a landfill sight .also they may well pass it onto a third world recycling scheme or for the less well of it can be refurbished

Depending how old your computer is, Circuit City has a thing where they will buy your old computer from you, just as long as it's not too old

You could always sell them on ebay.
If they are old, then you probably won't get much.
But if they are newer i'm sure you can get a couple hundred or so.
