I'm looking for any kind of rock songs that have flute solos or accompaniment by the flute. Thanks!

Flute Rock Songs

Pretty much anything by Jethro Tull, and I'm not sure if that's a flute or recorder on "Wild Thing". I think it's a recorder. There was a lot of orchestration in 60s pop songs, but none comes to mind immediately. Joni Mitchell has used woodwinds a lot, but more saxophone and the occasional clarinet than flute. I think there may be one on "Big Yellow Taxi", but would have to go back and listen to it.

Chicago- colour my world. Traffic,Blind Faith,Spencer Davis Group- all bands Steve Winwood was in have a lot of flute solos and intros. Mamas + Papas- California Dreamin' . Moody Blues- Nights in White Satin. Fifth Dimension- Aquarius. There's a ton of them.

Stairway to Heaven starts off with a flutish recorder sound. Your probably not going to find alot of flute/rock combo sounds with the exception of the Tull.

I'll vote for the cat before me's suggestion of Hocus Pocus...GREAT SONG!!!

Was just listening to the Jam channel on Sirius and heard a new rock group called Lucy Vincent. Cool song with a flute which I haven't heard in a long time. I think you might like it.

Try "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys" by Traffic also check out tunes by Rare Earth-- think they have some flute action. If you are interested in funky jazz, try "Harlem River Drive" by Bobbie Humphries
