I would say Moody Gardens. Lots of attractions and an IMAX theater. More info at the following link:

Also as mentioned don't foget Schillterbahn. It's a new water park. It's older location in New Braunfels has been featured on travel shows as one of the best int he country. I can only assume they have done a good job in Galveston. Link:

Definitely take time to wander the strand. Some interesting things to see and do. Catch the trolley from the beach if you can to see a little bit of the history of Galveston.

Have fun! Hope this helps!

There is a museum there that has a movie about the Great Flood, when a hurricane pretty much flooded the whole island back in the late 1800's. They do a good job with it - it was the Katrina of it's day. There are also some good restaurants there along the strand, and it's kind of fun to go poking around all the little hokey souvenir shops there, too. Hope you have a good time!

Schlitterbahn Galveston. It's a water park near Moody Gardens. Open year-round; part of the park is enclosed. However, they are only open weekends right now. I went there in January and LOVED swimming in winter! And it's not far from the coast at all.

Contact the Chamber of Commerce for all the tourist info. There's way too much to list. Suffice it to say, you won't be bored.
