Short answer: Yes. Long answer: If you have wireless Internet and an Ethernet card on a PC and just Ethernet on another FreeProxy ( http://www.handcraftedsoftware.org/ ) is a great way to share the Internet. There is a wealth of networking information including connection sharing available @ homenethelp.com ( http://homenethelp.com/connection-sharing.asp ). I have personally used FreeProxy and found works well and is free of spy ware.

You can - But you need to have a wireless card on your Desktop PC. Once you have both you can use internet connection sharing so that your wireless card on your desktop acts as a wireless access point. You only save about 20 bucks by doing this, its a better idea, and more reliable, to just buy a wireless router.

IF THE LAPTOP HAS BUILT-IN WIFI AND IF YOU HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER (NOT ACCESS POINT)THEN YOU CAN CONNECT YOUR PC AS WELL AS LAPTOP TO THE INTERNET
TO IDENTIFY A WIRELESS ROUTER AND WIRELESS ACCESS POINT LOOK BEHIND THEM
AN ACCESS POINT HAS ONLY ONE PORT IN WHICH THE LAN CABLE GOES
AS FOR THE WIRELESS ROUTER THERE ARE ABOUT 5-6 PORTS
NOW IF YOU HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER CONNECT THE MAIN INTERNET LINE TO THE PORT BEHIND THE WIRELESS ROUTER LABELLED INTERNET
THEN CONNECT A LAN CABLE(STRAIGHT THROUGH) FROM THE WIRELESS ROUTER TO THE PC .
NOW DO THE APPROPRIATE SETTINGS FOR PC AND LAPTOP
WELL IF YOU CANNOT ACCESS YOU WIRELESS ROUTER THEN YOU GOTTA CONNECT YOU PC TO A WIRELESS ADAPTOR WITH A USB CONNECTOR TO UR PC.
