There is no reason for it to be euthanized. This is not the first time where an abandoned baby have been raised by humans. In captivity, the keepers will act as a surrogant mother. It will raise the cub as an ambassador for its species. There are plenty of orphan animals that have been raised by humans in captivity that are doing just fine.

What good would it do to have the little thing die on the ice and serve no purpose? Through human intervention we can learn more about Polar bears and in the long run, help them to survive in the wild. We're already killing them with global warming so it's the least we can do...

I really dont see anything wrong with humans raising a baby polar bear. I dont think they should kill it just because it was rejected by its mother. that is only ONE polar bear for humans to raise. at least the bear is being loved and cared for.

Polar Bears are in danger of going extinct. I see no problems with the zookeepers stepping in and raising the baby. This baby may grow up and breed, and hopefully help keep the polar bears from going extinct.

Yes, humans should raise the baby polar bear. Polar bears are becoming increasingly rare and endangered. As Earth's care takers it is our responsibility to help our fellow creatures who share this world with us.

i also posted a question about this in pets and on here...i was shocked to see ppl that claim they care about animals want to kill one cause a captive mother did not know how to care for it or what ever.
like said in my ?? they are endangered...
who made them that way we did so therefore it is our problem to fix...if that means bottle feeding then yes to better the gene pool to breed from. its just a baby from what the zoo said it will live in the zoo or be shipped to new ones for breeding.

Sure it would have died in the wild...but its not in the wild and with so few left it must be saved!

there are so many orphaned animals out there that have been brought up by humans and released back into the wild successfully. why they are making an issue out of this one in particular is beside me.

This is my take on things. Most if not all animals/birds etc...that are in trouble are in trouble because of humans. We take over their habitat, and then complain because they are inconvienancing us! If it weren't for humans, there would be little need for human intervention. Why not save this little guy?
