No- but hey theres rumors that a DVD Wii is coming out half way into this year.

Besides who doesnt own a DVD player, i mean come on, there only like 70 bucks, why do u need one in the Wii?

Unfortunately no it cannot. It was built for games only. If added it would have raised the sales price. Nintendo's stance has always been they are an entertainment company providing games for the enjoyment of all. DVD's are just something they are not interested in showcasing. They did the same thing with the gamecube which was why the disks were so much more smaller.

No, it cannot. To keep the Wii at such a low cost (249.99 MSRP), they decided not to include DVD or Blue Ray it in the system.

Nope but I have heard rumors about a second version having a dvd player. Also if you would like to listen to music on it Datel has made technolgy that can make you listen to music on it.Go Datel!
