every one knows which goal i am talking about, the one against Phoenix where he fell down and hit the puck with his stick while the puck was behind his head. but thats ONE Freaking goal!!! its not the best goal ever!!! crosby has had at least 3 goals that were better than that, and against better goalies, Gretzgey, Orr, Lemiuex, and Bure all have to have at least 5 better goals, and there are countless others,
when will this stop?!?!? im sick and tired of going on youtube and lookin at hockey vids and constantly seeing that goal ranked at number 1. its ridiculus

Best ever or not, it was a pretty sweet goal. That debate aside, you'd probably up your credibility a few notches by figuring out how to spell Gretzky or Lemieux.

First and foremost, I am NOT a Caps fan, nor am I an Ovechkin fan in the least. But, I was there at the Glendale Arena when the goal in question was scored and it truly was amazing. It was like the entire arena got real quiet all of a sudden as we all looked up to watch the replay. As for it being the best goal ever...that is definitely debatable. I have been in the presence of many great goals - especially scored by Sidney Crosby and none other than Mario Lemieux himself. As a Pens fan, I would have to say that Lemieux and Crosby both have scored goals better than that one. I guess that people are just caught up in the new NHL with guys like Crosby and Ovechkin taking over as the new "faces" of the league. Just wait until playoffs...I foresee Crosby, Malkin, or Staal scoring something special...just wait...
Let's Go Pens!!!

Yes. It could happen tonight, or tomorrow, or in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, 'cause there is almost a prettier goal just waiting to be scored. Its a nice goal, but i don't think its the best - and as for Lemieux having 5 better goals he had 5 better goals in one game - an even strength, shorthanded, power play, four on four and a beauty on the penalty shot. I still say the best goal though was Bobby Orr's first goal in the NHL, he's on the ice and SOMEHOW is able to get the puck in the net, just crazy! haha.

Best goal ever - Gretzky to Lemieux Top Shelf - Canada win the Canada Cup - that goal mattered
Next on the list - Henderson made a wild stab at the puck and fell - here's another chance out in front - Henderson scores for Canada - that goal mattered
Ovechkins goal was great heads up play but against the Coyotes in regular season - hardly mattered. Great goals matter.

Funny how you mention all these superstars (really need to work on that spelling though) and in recent memory I think that Malik's goal was the nicest. However, I can't say I hear a whole lot of talk on how Ovechkin's was the best goal ever (maybe their was a recent posting??)

Ovechkin's goal is truely great, but far from the best. We have top-shelf backhanders, unbeleivable spinnerama goals, and Sidney Crosby goals {lol}.

i agree. it was an amazing goal. but the one when crosby skated around 4 canadiens to throw the puck in the net was better and more recent.

why are you tired of it?
he is good at what he does, and thats what he does, score amazing goals.
crosby is just as good, perhaps better, everybody knows it.
but ovechkin is an amazing scorer too.
if you dont like to hear this stuff, tough.
thats sports.
