I recommend you do a little research with the Business Opportunity Search Engine. Being community driven it’s a cross between a search engine and a Wikipedia. You can add, delete and improve the results for much more focused answers than a general search engine can provide. http://www.BusinessOpportunitySearchEngine.com

The only legit work from home business I have found is the one my wife and I do. It's well established and, you can make a nice income (even 6 FIGURES a year)!

My wife and I both have a home based business, that we do part time and make any where from $800 to $1500 a month just working part time from home. Our goal is for my wife to stay home with the children our two girls ages 3 and 16. Right now it's part time, but eventually it will be full time for the wife so she can do the business and stay home with the kids.

The company has been in business for over 27 years, does business in 64 countries around the world, did over 3 billion $ in sales sales last year just from people working from home, and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

We got started here at http://www.herbalhomebiz.com Take a look, we both do the business and it's our answer to be able to stay home with kids and earn a nice income. Our mentor earns $8,000 a month just from working at home, and she is a single mom!

You did not mention what your interests are. There are plenty of home based businesses around. Here are a few that are lucrative and easy to run:

1) affiliate marketing on the Internet. You sell products and services for other people and are paid a commission on each sale.
2) information sales. Write an eBook or a few reports about a subject you know well and sell them on your Website.
3) service bureau for small businesses. Provide an answering and correspondence service to other small businesses. You can also offer a bookkeeping, mailing and translation service.

This is just a tiny sample of work at home jobs.

I hope this helps a little.
Regards,
amadeus

I am seriously thinking of a home based business for when i retire.I got to thinking that whatever I did I would need my computer to communicate, then I realised that nearly everyone uses a computer.

With that in mind I am looking into a job in web design, e-commerce or as a computer engineer ( ok so I will have to go out locally to collect sometimes but I shall fix them at home)

More than easy

Make jumbo chocolate covered strawberries with nuts on a popsicle stick. At the mall they are 5$ a chocolate covered strawberry, sell 30 a day each one is 2$ and you will make 60$ a day if you sell all of them. And in a week you will make 420$.
and a month 2,520$
a year 30,240$ damn you could by a housesell like 60 a day
and in a year 60,480$.

I know what you mean about MLM's. I have been in so many that has promised so much and delivered nothing that I have coined a new term for MLM's meaning "Make Little Money". You name it, I have tried it. I have made continuious success in a business that uses the power of the internet and partners with stores like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy just to name a few to get anyone earning commissions and checks. I've seen returns on my initial investment in 90 days. Check out www.marketamerica.com/tatkinsenterprises, and email me later at www.thomatk@verizon.net. Click on the "About MA" tab at the home page, and get the solution you need.

My husband and I have an online/offline retail business that might work for you. I can't give you details here since it's against the rules of this site but send me an email or check out my profile if you'd like more information.

Sell things on ebay or at a garage sale.

I have friends who host their own garage sales and make $700-$2200 for two days work.

They buy things as cheap as they can from garage sales and ebay.
