For the record, I think our questioner lives in Canada where the Senate is indeed not democratically appointed.
To literally answer your question Sir/Madam, I looked into my crystal ball and discovered that in October 2018 the Canadian House of Commons eventually acquiesced to continuous public outrage about democratic reform and passed legislation to reform the Senate to that of proportional representation voting with province wide electorates; as was done by that time in both Australia and the United Kingdom for their upper houses. The Canadian Senate only agreed to pass such legislation under threat from the PM that he would flood the Senate with selected appointees who would not only agree to the bill but also to another to abolish all privileges for retired Senators.
As for judges being directly answerable to the people, as of 2018 no reform had yet been made. The main reason given by politicans and academics being that "That's what they do in the United States and we certainly don't want to be like them!"

The 17th Amendment established the direct election of Senators. I voted for my last two senators in Georgia - I'm not sure what you are talking about.
Furthermore, many local judges are elected. As for federal judges and Supreme Court Justices, would you really want Bubba voting deciding on a lifelong appointment that has no check on him other than the possibility of impeachment? At least the President can be removed after four years, and has to answer constantly to Congress, the press, and the American people. No such scrutiny with federal judges. Can you even name one outside of the Supreme Court? I can't.

It's amazing how few people know how the government works. Senators are elected to six year terms. It is a continuous house in which one-third is elected every two years. Supreme court judges are appointed by the President and then verified by the senate and are granted tenure so that they can't be bullied in there rulings.

Senators are elected by the people. Judges should not be . They can promise to give breaks to people to buy votes.
