I personally do not have a bone of predjudice in me for may reasons. To share a few, I am multi-racial, inter-racially adopted and interacially married. All answers are welcomed and encouraged so please share your thoughts. I am just curious if others see what I see. I will share my observations if that is allowed here. (I am not sure of the protocol.) If not, could someone please let me know.

It is in the back of every ones mind. It may or may not surface. We are all the same but some folks for what ever reason think they are better. Worse of all it is global.

White people often become upset or want to argue about it when I say this, but I truly feel that racism and prejudice is far more common today than white people would like to acknowledge because it's uncomfortable to do so. No one wants to feel like they are doing something wrong, so they go on as if it does not exist. That, to me, is just as dangerous as it was in the 50's because it still exists but no one will talk about it. It's more of an undercover racism that is only evident at certain times. I think that many white people who hold prejudiced ideas would never think that they were "prejudiced" because it's something that they don't want to be, but in reality they hold these beliefs. The key is to be honest with ourselves, so that we can have an open dialog and deal with what's there instead of pretending that it's not. Good question.

To be honest, the most racist and prejudice thing I've seen in a long time was the 2004 film Crash. I think the condition of race relations, in America, is rather good. Sure, it could be better, but that's a bit idealistic. There are those vehement, bigoted, ignorant, and moronic few that will never be convinced of the idiocy of racism, but not much can be done for those poor souls. As for most of us, we're cool.

I am white, but my daughters are bi-racial. My oldest is half Haitian and my youngest two are half Cuban. Both of my brothers are half Bahamian and my little siater is half Cuban. My boyfriend is from the Vigin Islands. My mother came from a traditiional Southern family where it was taught that white was right and that you don't mix races. My mother moved to Southern Florida and raised her children in a different manner. I really don't understand why people are stupid. In this day and age where most people are mutts and their pedigrees are made up of a variety of different backgrounds, you would think we would be the fore runners of acceptance and tolerance. In a country where we came here escape the persacution of the British, I'm not quite sure how we became a country that accepted all that has happened. I myself have prejudices. Not about skin color or background, but about attitudes and stupidity. I forget that my daughter and boyfriend are black till someone mentions it to me. Someone actually came up to me and told me, to my face, that i shouldn't mix races, that black and white shouldn't date or marry. ( And this came from a black woman) I was shocked, of course, at her audacity, but then I had to turn and look at them before I actually remembered, " Oh, yeah that's right, they are black." It's those people who I am prejudiced against, but then I have to remember that I must be patient. Poeple like these are becoming fewer and farer in between. I have to practice patience and acceptance that not everyone is the same or thinks the same or were raised like I was. Fear is only in our minds. Some people just take more time to overcome their fears. The spell check was taking to long, please forgive my spelling.

First of all, everyone has some preduices about some group, so if you think that, you're deluding yourself. I think things are getting for the most part. Unfortunately, the most predudiced people are the most vocal. I think the world will be a better place when everyone is mocha-brown. I'm white & so is my man, but my God-daughter is mixed, I grew up in a mixed neighborhood, have friends of a lot of races & cultures. I think most of the younger people are less racist. I hope I'm right about that.

I think race is overrated. I don't think its the most important thing in the world and I think that we spend to much time obessing over it. I think we should treat everyone as human beings and respond to them according to how they behave and not the color of their skin. And I think when we are looking for a husband/wife, employee, friend, or whatever the case may be race should not be a factor.

That Obama has failed blacks as plenty or better than different races (its not black against white you recognize, its black vs. Hispanics, Asians and Whites) merely shows that he fails every physique. Or it shows that blacks have not stronger their venture inspite of a black President in place of work. What became the black unemployment value formerly Obama took place of work? as long as human beings can get a examine each and each month they are unlikely to seek for artwork, black or white. With blacks although that's get a examine as long as you vote Democratic each and every 4 years. there remains extra threat interior the artwork place for a black workers with a reliable artwork checklist or an coaching (and perhaps not on parole) than there is for a white worker. ask your self and answer certainly. Who has the ideal possibilities a white newborn graduating college with a level or a black newborn with a similar degree? in case you answer the white newborn, then you certainly are regrettably deluded.

race relations are not necessarily better but dynamic. each period of time seems to have its hot button topic: slavery, civil rights, affirmative action, illegal immigration. as long as this is a multi-racial society there will always be racism along with other social ills.

We are all the same inside. Some people don't approve but wouldn't/shouldn't show it. What ever way people choose to live their lives is none of anybodys business. That's the way it is most everywhere. Let there be peace on earth. And let it being with me/you.
