My teacher was telling us a story about when he was in college and he said that he always used to fail his tests. One day his professor told him that the best way to study for a test was to copy your notes 1 time 3 days before the test, 2 times the day before the test and on the day of the test copy them another 2 times.

I have found that getting someone to quiz you over the material works really well (especially if it is a close friend) because they ususally make up little things to help to help you remember it! Like we had a huge science test and we were supposed to study all of the stuff from the whole year and when me and my friend Tiff were studying the Periodic Table and she was trying to help me remember what all the element symbols stood for and we got to the symbol for Lead and she was like Peanut Butter and Lead, (the symbol for lead is PB by the way) and it helped me remember it, that test was 5 years ago and I still remember what the symbol for lead is!! lol

What I do is read the chapter 2 days before the test. Try to really understand it. The next day, study your notes and memorize the facts. That's what I did and I got a 94% and my friends got like Cs and Fs.

I agree with the flash cards but i would also suggest coming up with a rhyme to remember dates, names, etc. Also, my friends and I like to study together in a chat room. Also, always review your information immediately before the test starts.

depends on what type of test. if a math test..one would not want to just memorize equations. one would want to know how to use them.
