The apprentice rating were lagging and he wanted to go back positively into the publics eye especially after the negative Miss America and Rosie Scandal, you saw what the WWE did for a very unpopular Kevin Federline maybe not in record sales but he did get tha fan fav superbowl commercial, as well as extended his post Brittney fame life a bit.

Exposure of course. Donald also stated in an interview that he was not being directly compensated for his appearances, rather WWE is making a very large charitable contribution in his name.

He was the one along with the NBC Anetwork ask Vince if they could get him involved in a storyline for a good while now.He asked them becasue his show on NBC .THE APPRENTICE' was not getting enough ratings as he wanted sp he asked to be invovled in a WWE storyline which could draw more publicity to himself and at the same time it will help his show on NBC build more ratings.

Publicity stunt, and a good one. It reaches out to a newer demographic of fans, and possibly directs some people to watch the apprentice
