hey gurl are you cuban??? Cause i noticed you name, I am...lol.. but tanning can make you look more fit because of the darker skin color && it can make strectch marks more obvious...but when youre really out of shape getting tanned wont help much. the tanning beds are dangerous, but then the self tanners are messy, leave you w/ orange hands, and are sometimes more difficult, so you just have to see what you want to do..but if you live in a place w/ a hot climate then you shouldnt have a problem getting tanned with the sun..

It does NOT make you look skinnier, there are tanning lotions that will tell you that "You'll look 10 pounds thinner!" But it doesn't, you can't look skinner because of the color of your skin. If you could, black people would look tiny. And about stretch marks, I think it depends on the individual, and how tan you get. Because if you're really tan your stretch marks will stand out, but if you just get normal tan, I don't think you should have a problem.

it makes you look thinner and it makes stretch marks LESS obvious (why do you think competitive weight lifters are so tan- just read an article that it shows their muscles more and an extreme amount covers stretch marks)........
but i've learned that the negative far outweighs the positive. aside from the cancer bit, which alone is worth not hitting the tanning beds, i was assisting a customer at work yesterday. she was extremely tan, middle age, and had skin like leather probably b/c of the sun.
I'd rather look like snow white than get shriveled by a tanning bed.

I don't think so, Ive seen overweight people tan.....and they don't appear any thinner to me. Although tan skin, is better than white flabby skin lol some guy told me that.
I think that tanning does make streatch marks more obvious, because I have 2 slight streatch marks on my hips and they seem to look more apparent when I tan.

uh, yeah tanning doesn't make you lok thinner. I should know as I just came back from MExico, got a tan and still look exactly the same except for my slightly darker skin. It really doesn;t change your appearence that much at all except for the act that you (as I said) are darker.

No, extremely hassle-free skinned ladies ought to look thinner in concept, because of the fact they might not stand out as plenty against the history than a tan woman might. individually i think of mild ladies are perfect!!! So are tan ladies :)

I've never heard that, but it does make
you feel more confident. I always feel
like I look better when I tan, but not
necessarily skinner. Sorry I don't
know about the stretch marks, I don't
have them to know.

Yes it does make you appear a little more trim (kind of like black pants don't make your but look as big...) It only helps a little. It doesn't make streach marks more obvious.

Tanned skin masks stretch marks- tried and true- it will also make you appear a bit skinnier- but it's not a huge difference.
