Because some people seem to think that if one person breaks the law, then everyone else gets to break the law to.
So, if one president in the past did something illegal, then Bush is allowed to do the same (or different) illegal thing.
It's completely irrational, but it's all they've got.

Presidential crimes? Not hardly bubba, Crimes leads to arrests and jail time. You don't like his policies? Use the voting booth. Thats what they are there for.
