My nail took almost six months to fall off, and now, underneath, it looks bumpy. It seems like there are some hard, raised parts that look like a nail, but it certainly does not look like I expected. I thought it would grow back evenly and look just like a really short nail. What is normal? Should I be worried that it may never grow back properly? Please help...I am now stressed over this!

The exact same thing happened to me, Twice!!!!

It grows back normal, just like it was before, but it does take some time. For me, it took a year to look completely normal. But it only takes 3 months or so to start growing back and looking like the other ones

It'll grow out. My nail got slammed in a door as well, took a few months to fall off and had ridges when it grew back in. You just need to give it time to grow out, once another nail grows in, it'll look normal again.

the color will come back, it may be a touch darker than the others, or off colored. the color you're seeing now might want to be the bruised nail mattress that you won't be able to work out in the back of the cutical. there is blood nevertheless below there and it has to artwork its way out. that's likely nevertheless kinda sore because blood the position it doesnt belong is an irratation. desire this helps.

You have damaged the nail bed and this will take time to heal properly. Massage some vitamin E oil into it and this will help the healing process.
