Been a fan of the sport since I was 9 years old...and I didn't care about looking at cute boys back then. Here's my thing, it's annoying yes and no. It's annoying to the fact that they probably don't know any of the rules or what a rush it is to actually be at a game. That part makes me sad because they don't have that passion...but...then again...

Unfortunately, the NHL doesn't get the airtime and respect it deserves in the news or on ESPN and the such. I say...the more fans to the sport, the merrier...if you spend money to go to the game just to drool over a player or buy that Crosby jersey from NHL.com because he's cute - at least you're spending money to support the team and the league.

I am a HUGE Pens fan - 20 years this season. It's nice to look at guys like Crosby and Talbot and Fleury...but I'd rather watch what they can do on the ice...

Let's Go Pens!!!

Not to be critical, but why let yourself get upset over something as insignificant as the way another female views the game of hockey and her reasons for liking it? It would be different, however, if they were trying to upset you directly. So what if they wear pink jerseys, or whatever, or carry signs - as long as they watch the game in an orderly manner, they have a right to be there just as you do. Next time, save yourself some grief, and instead of getting mad, just be satisfied that you're not like that, and let it go. Maybe one day, some of those girls you see with the signs, dressed in pink shirts might become a dyed-in-the-wool fan like yourself. I know this advice sounds like it's coming from someone who is old - you're right. I am old, and I am an old time Pens fan (and still am). I go back to the Hornets, the AHL team before the Pens came to be. Anyway, just let the poseurs do their thing, and you just ignore them and root for the Pens to make a successful showing in the playoffs this year.

It does make me really mad that some girls are like that. Sure I am a girl and i think that guys that play hockey are hot but thats not the reason i love the sport. i love the sport because its so much fun to watch and theres just so much i love about it. i also really dont like how when i go to a game i see all these girls/women dressed up and in high heels and everything, why cant they just wear a jersey, jeans, and something other than high heels. Whenever i go to a hockey game i like to sport the teams colors and i dont care what i look like as long as im having fun and watching one of the best sports. I totally agree that the girls that only like the sport because the guys are hot are posers.

haha fleuryyy whattt a joke.
um being a girll i love the nhl and i dont love it because some of the guys are hott even though they are.. i dont go around saying every one is hott. i love the game because its intense and its so much fun to watch. i love the high speed games as much as having a defensive trap kind of game. its always fun to watch a game with great goaltending in a 1-0 or 2-1 game as well.

and i agree with courtney. THE PINK NHL GEAR IS THE STUPIDEST IDEA EVER!!! when i see some girl wearing that i laugh so hard. but honestly i think any sport with the pink gear is gay.. cuz i know they have it for football too.

I can't stand fans that are like that whether they are boys and girls, men and women. I am a Ranger fan. I have been my life. I was with them when they won in 1994, that was a great year, to this very day. My favorite players are Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Mike Richter, Adam Graves, Rod Gilbert, Ed Giacomin, etc. I also like Jagr and Shanahan. I have always been a hockey fan and I always will be along with baseball, basketball, and football.

yep they are posers. the stupid puck bunnies who only like hockey for the hott guys. guess what girls theres a hell of a lot more to hockey than that. watch the actual sport. its amazing. what these guys can do on the ice is amazing. their looks are not the only thing thats amazing. oh and then there are those girls who wear pink jerseys..what the hell is that? if your too girly to wear the teams actual colors then stop calling yourself a fan. those pink jerseys shouldnt even be made. theyre ridiculous.

hi Years in the past this question replace into asked and there replace into countless great solutions. between the topics in numerous of them replace into which you would be able to watch hockey each time, everywhere, any team. the affection of objective scoring and paintings of a great play skill greater suitable than favourite communities and bandwagon followers. i will upload a real fan won't have their favourite team's all time roster and stats memorized yet will never miss a great gamble to observe scrimmage. on the 2nd link, the BA is going a lengthy thank you to speak of how a real fan ought to behave. thank you playstation JJ, a real fan ought to have lots greater suitable than a typical be attentive to-how of regulations and positions. in case you are able to no longer understand hooking, preserving the stick, what the instigator penalty rather is, ect; nicely then you certainly merely are an casual fan that watches passively. watching passively skill no interest for the interest and no interest of the interest mean no longer a real fan. pss Dearest JJ, oh how I miss suited banter in this area. examining with the aid of Bob's question and everybody's answer jogged my memory of a time that persons understood the thank you to make a factor, the thank you to counter a factor, and how rebuttal. Now to my rebuttal of your rebuttal (is there a suited term for that?) I declare that a fan that for the duration of elementary terms has the common understandings of the interest continues to be at that factor an casual fan. i'm no longer able to bypass to the point of calling them a bandwagon or homer, yet area of the ceremony of passage is evolving into genuine fan is that the guy has gained significant awareness. i'm hoping you do no longer replace into offend if i take advantage of your as a chief occasion. look without postpone you first regarded in this area as adversarial to immediately. notice the quantity of regular awareness you have gained and the deeper be attentive to-how of the interest. whilst no professional in anybody area, you at the instant can see the transformations which you have been as quickly as blind to.

Let me start out by saying that by the end of an NHL season, not one player can really seem attractive to a girl, with all the bruises and black eyes, and other hockey caused injuries. secondly, yes they are posers. i mean a boy who is only a fan of the WNBA because he finds the women to be good looking or finds it "hot" to watch women sweat, is clearly not a WNBA fan, but rather a sick person who should be secluded form society due to his awkwardness

I love you for stating what I've been feeling for the past 7 years. I started to be a hockey fan when hockey came to Columbus, OH. And every game, I have to deal with stupid teeny bobber girls wearing Rick Nash's jersey and glittery signs saying they love him! Give me a break.... I think us true girl hockey fans can kick their butts anyday....
