For road trips I usually listen to short, punk rock songs, like Green Day or New Found Glory. I dont listen to anything with songs that are long cause the car trip will get boring. I also like to listen to Sheryl Crow and things from my days in high school that bring back memories.

compilations can be great, too, like "best of summer 2005" or whatever, then you get a good variety. you can often pick them up in a discount cd store really cheaply.
