be 12 weeks and they sai d i sould see a nurse what does nurse do if i go to the clinic?

They never set mine up until about 12 weeks either...but if you see the nurse first they will get your height, weight, blood pressure, urine sample, blood test if you like for AIDS and an iron test. Then they will ask you tons of questions about your medical and sexual and personal history.

the nurse can do an exam. A lot of the time they give you your paps. It is common that the doctor not see you until you are 2 1/2 months along approx.

The nurse will have you take a pregnancy test to make sure you are pregnant. Check your vitals such as blood pressure and weight. She will ask you several question about you rfamily medical history as well as if you have been pregnant before. If you have she will get information about each pregnancy. Congrats

I am 9 weeks,too.
But, my doctor did want to see me briefly at the 8 week mark.
They took blood, did a urine test.
Asked for my last monthly period, and gave me a due date.
Then, she did a quick "feel" on the cervix.
I don't get to see her again until I am 12 weeks.

They give you pre-natals and give you instructions on what meds you can or can not take. My doctor said nothing before 12 weeks, even tylenol. Unless you have a history of problems, there is no reason to see a doctor that early, with my doctor you see his mid wife that he has on staff and she gives you all the info and gives you pre-natals. Dont' worry it is typical

Unless your high risk the dr really doesnt do much that early. The nurse can do the pelvic....., medical history, Past preg info, blood work, give pre natials ect.
