I took my phone Motorola 3V [I'm well aware it is a rubbish phone] into the store to get fixed today – the 7 button was sticking.

I have backed up my SIM with my SIM card backup, but stupidly it seems most of my contacts were actually saved on the phone – DOH!

What are the chances that all my contacts will still be there after the phone is repaired?

100%. The info on the phone is not erased unless you go into the settings and manually erase it. Most likely all the will do is take the front plate off your phone and either clean your keypad or put in a new one.

There is absolutely no reason why they wouldnt be there - the key problem you mentioned is common on the V3 Razr's and its caused by the keypad's bad design or sometimes the ribbon itself.

If the phone was to have its firmware upgraded then your infor would be lost but as the problem is hardware based there is no reason to worry I have fixed many of these handsets.....

I hope your contacts are still there. A similar thing happened to a friend of mine though and the phone memory had been cleared when it came back.

Fingers crossed for you.

If its just a sticking button then you should be ok. Had it been a software/firmware upgrade then it be would almost certainly be lost.
