With a current pullout date set for Iraq,why don't we just leave tomorrow???

Once a date has been established,there is no point in hagning around since to many American lives are at stake.Even the Bush run White House is begining to realize there is no longer a need for our U.S. troops.Lets go home.No more violence no more death on either side....Tom Science 4

Garrett, you are wrong about democrats and the war. To me, it has nothing to do with George Bush. It's about stopping our involvement in a war that shouldn't even be. THERE WAS NO CONNECTION BETWEEN IRAQ AND THE 9/11 TERRORISTS. IT IS A WAR ABOUT OIL and it failed, because the terrorists have had all this time to regroup while we've been somewhere we AREN'T EVEN WANTED.

I agree with the premise of the question. Bush said it himself and you really cant argue with it.
If you set a time in which you are going to leave, the insurgents will just wait you out knowing if they wait that long you will leave and they can raise hell without worry and take over.
Vietnam was exactly this kind of situation. It was admitted that if had gone on much longer North Vietname would have folded. but becuase of controversy over the war in the US it gave them hope that the US would quit ( == this is what is referred to as emboldening the enemy === )
And of course we pulled out.

So if you set a time, you are just letting the bad guys know how long they have to wait before you leave.
So either pull out now or ride it out.
