No. He just did that because Shawn faked that he was going to kick him. He doesn't even need to do the FU to be a heel. If you remember last year the WWE announced Cena vs HHH at Mania and he's been getting booed ever since.

Well, Cena started out in WWE as a heel, but I'm not sure if Vince will ever make the decision to have him make a turn back to heel.
