Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

You can use products that have benzoyl peroxide in them. Also some people do good with things with either tea tree oil or salicylic acid. With the benzoyl peroxide and the salicylic acid bases items, make sure you start with lower percentages, as it could dry out your skin.
Also, if you have acne to the point that it's quite bad, and you're parents have medical insurance, I might ask about going to a dermatologist. But that can still be a bit expensive, though many prescription products would be covered under a presecription plan.
Start with the products I suggested first.

The main ingredient in Proactive is benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide works wonders. You can even get it in the store brand for cheap. You don't have to spend a fortune on Proactiv just get the benzoyl peroxide cream. It will dry your face out quite a bit so you will need to get a face lotion to help with the dryness. With BP cream, just wash your face with a face wash, apply a thin layer to the parts of your face prone to acne, sleep with it on overnight, then wash your face in the morning and put the face lotion on. Repeat every night. It really does work wonders and it's much cheaper than Proactiv.

Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
you can get it at the health food store, or in some super marktet health food sections. i use bragg vinegar..
good luck
Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."
to drink it, put it in honey and water, or apple juice--tastes like cider..cost is 5 dollars a qt at the healthfood store

Try Noxzema...you need a cleanser, toner and a lotion in order for it to all work. I used it and loved it. I also used a weekly exfoliator, too! You also have to wash your face in the morning and at night on a daily basis. Also avoid fatty or greasy foods. Eating healthier will make a huge difference in your skin. On last thing is start taking a daily vitamin. It will not only help your skin but it is good for your entire body as well.

Hello.
You might want to look into Skintactix products. I use them for adult acne, and I've not found anything else that works for me.

Mild cleanser (like aveeno)--get unscented.
Then, apply benzoyl peroxide to the pimples twice a day, and a mild unscented facial lotion with SPF 15 or more (like Olay) to the dry areas.
