blowers to dry the carpets, but the smell is terrible any ideas on how I can get ride of the smell of the carpets?

Baking soda spread over the carpet and then vacuumed up. A product called Fabreeze will help kill the orders.

I would suggest LESTOIL... put it 50/50 in a bucket with water, mop it into the carpet liberally and then use a shop vac to suck it all out. The result will be a pine scent and clean carpets.

I do it all the time but honestly, never after a flood of your magnitude. It will work for sure though.

you have to get all that carpet out that's the only way the smell is coming from the padding and the fans only drying the surface not under that carpet pull the carpet and the padding out

You probably are going to have to have the carpets cleaned with a deoderizer add.
