in phantasy star IV, i would be that first smart bartender in Dezolis that you need to ask questions of, when that priest joins your team.
i'd be an NPC, so all i would have to do is say the same thing over and over whenever someone talks to me. i would not have to go on any trivial quests to get some crown out of a poisoned pit or anything like that. no, i'll be nice, warm and toasty, and just have to tell people what they want.
as it is, in the game, that particular character is a barkeep, and like many barkeeps in games, they hear many things, and are great sources of information. without being able to hear that information, many would-be heroes would never know where to go, or what to do.
as well, i'd meet so many of these would-be heroes, and perhaps even meet the hero that is destined to save the world from whatever is threatening it this time

You want me to choose which character I would be who regularly has to face hordes of vicious powerful opponents, have triflingly weak weapons, have to go up against impossible odds on a daily basis, and die a thousand varied gruesome excruciating deaths.
Guybrush Threepwood, in Monkey Island 3. That's the only character I know who can't die. Plus he's got a hot chick.

Either Nathan Hale from Resistance Fall of Man ( World's Best game....ever!) or the Altair from Assassin's Creed.

Purpose: to shoot the hell out of the Chimera

Purpose: to assassinate, and play parkour. XD ( parkour is a french sport, look for videos on YouTube)

Job: assassin.( No duh)

Luigi! he's the younger brother who is always left behind. (even though he's taller & has just as much skill as his brother, Mario) Luigi's girlfriend is Daisy, although he doesn't mind rescuing Peach. He is more shy, but just as vicous. The much ignored younger brother, that is Luigi.

guts from berserk. He's one bad *** sick guy that wields a sword the size of a tree. He has no remorse or pitty. He's the ultimate character in my opinion.
