I have no problem falling asleep, but I end up waking up an hour or two after and it happens 4 or 5 times most nights. I can't remember the last time I fell asleep...slept soundly...and woke up feeling refreshed.

It's tough, but it's possible.

During the day, keep your activity levels generally high. Get plenty of exercise, at least an hour or an hour and a half. Do not do exercise in the latter parts of the evening, and definitely not within the 2 hours before you go to bed. You must avoid having any naps during the day, do not go into the bed for any reason - reading or otherwise :-) Your body needs to learn to associate bed with sleep.

Ensure that your sleep environment is good, minimise any lighting, sound, and disturbances, and have the temperature a couple of degrees cooler, so that you're relaxed but not shivering.

Lastly, drink a cup of hot milk, with a little bit of cinnamon sprinkled on the top. Try to avoid adding any sugar if possible, but if you really have to, use some honey. It's extremely rich in tryptophans which are excellent hypnotic agents.

Now go to sleep...

i'd prefer to handle this from the two angles as the two somebody with cgronic insomnia using napping pills and a marijuana person. Marijuana: weed is super, it helps you bypass to sleep, calms you down, and makes you sense good. Cons: that's unlawful in maximum states, smoking is undesirable to your wellbeing, and could be addictive if used over long classes of time. napping pills: in my opinion for sleep i take advantage of prescription napping pills. I, such as you, started with trazadone yet got here upon that it is not any longer very good and would not artwork too properly for me. i'm now in the approach of shifting as much as extra severe napping pills and characteristic got here upon that they are beginning as much as artwork extra appropriate and are so some distance on benzos. i in my opinion do no longer discover them addictive as they do purely 2 issues: calm you and make you sleep. the place as i in my opinion war with alcohol and marijuana cravings. short: stay secure, stay criminal. Ask your wellbeing practitioner for extra appropriate napping pills.

Is it possible that you are depressed? Depression can cause you to have early morning wake ups. This was the first symptom to my depression. I have yet to figure out how to sleep through the night. Good luck with it :)
