You can get a divorce with just one signature but cant get one without both. Someone has to sign the papers.

Yes, if one person abandons the other, then divorce is possible without two signatures.

you CAN have a contested divorce, it just takes a little longer, be sure to get a lawyer who KNOWS it's contested.

Why is she refusing to sign? is she after a certain thing? look at the obstacles, and ask yourself if they are worth dragging the fight out over.. like a vehicle.. material item.. etc... wouldn't it be better just to give it up and move on ... but just be sure to contact a lawyer, maybe they can hash out a deal for you.

ask your lawyer, most states have some type of default divorce, but it takes time, they have to be served a minimum of three times and you have to have proof it was done.

bummer, New York doesn't have no-fault divorce.....you have to be separated for a year; yikes....go to this site, it will tell you more than you ever thought you wanted to know.
