If he's incapacitated in any way and unable to exercise any free will or judgement, then it's sexual assault. You think slipping a "mickey" to a girl in a bar then taking her around to your place for a snoggle isn't rape? How do you think this would be any different?
If your mate won't come across sober without feeling guilty, how do you think he'd feel after he sobered up and found out you took advantage of him?
If you value his friendship (and your freedom), just tell him what you want and let him decide what to do about it.

I have had the same situation with a friend called Robert. First of all, do not feel you have to be drunk. I longed for years to make love to Robert then one day we did. We weren't drunk, it was just that he let himself go, and he responded to my need for him. We had a really great, sexy, very loving time and fell asleep in each other's arms for hours. I really do know your feelings, though. I am not Michael, but I would make love to you because i understand.

Riiiiight. Are you familiar with the concept of 'rape'?
If 'Mike' has his judgement impaired by alcohol, then technically (and morally) you are committing rape, and can be held criminally liable as such.
I would suggest a more subtle approach. Whatever happened to chocolates and flowers?

No, I'm not a moron. I just don't see the need for getting him drunk first. If the two of you both like one another and the sex would be consensual, why muddy it up with booze!

Gosh, is it just that you want to make love to him, or do you wish to explore a further commitment? Why not talk to Michael about it first? Don't say anything about his boyfriend, let Michael know your feelings towards him. Then let Michael decide whether he wants to get together with you or not.
