For IBM you press F1 when you first turn it on to enter Bios. The Bios on the older IBM Laptops is fairly simple and not a lot of options to change.
I have a 770 and iSeries.
You may need to "Flash" the Bios and upgrade. Look on the bottom and find your model number. I try to find you the support page.
Well, maybe their server is down. But, I got this link;
http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/
Look to the right for Downloads and Support once you get in you can have it "Autodetect" your computer or enter the information on bottom. You are searching for XP upgrade.
AND, IBM sold out to Lenovo (China) that why you see Lenovo and not IBM.

When you restart your computer, there should be an option to either press del or f8 or f6, and that should get you into the bios settings. Then, set the computer to boot from CD, then save settings and reboot computer. It should boot from the windows xp cd and then follow the instructions.
