if one paid to have a package delievered in 2 days and it's now been 8 days...what can one do?

It depends on if you paid to have it tracked or if you paid for insurance on it, there is nothing you can do if you didn't buy either one of those. I sent my husband a package to Iraq in January that still hasn't gotten to him yet, and it had expensive stuff in there, but there's nothing I can do because it's not insured, and they can't tell me where it's at because I didn't have it tracked either.

go to the post office and have them try to track it. You will need the tracking number they gave you. You can also try tracking it on the postal service website.
