My husband and I do not like the name Naomi, but we do like N-eye-oh-mee. Is there a standard spelling for that name? It's different than N-ay-oh-mee. I've looked in baby name books and on websites, but I can't find N-eye-oh-mee in them. Do people just mispronounce Naomi this way commonly? Or is it really a different name? Help please!

I'd spell it Naomi and I've heard that spelling pronounced nye-oh-mee, but I'm sure it could constantly be mispronounced which would annoy the heck out of me, so maybe Nyomi, or Nayomi...

this singers real name is Niomi. I think that Niomi is a nice spelling. I like it much better than with a y. It seems more classic and beautiful. The y makes it look trendy which is cute now not as much when she is an adult.

Naomi:

Meaning: Pleasant

Derivations: Naoma, Naomah, Naomee, Naomey, Naomia, Naomiah, Naomie, Naomy, Navit, Neoma, Neomah, Neomee, Neomi, Neomie, Neomy, Niomi, Niomie, Niomy, Niomeh, Noma, Nomah, Nomee, Nomey, Nomi, Nomia, Nomiah, Nomie, Nyoma, Nyomee, Nyomey, Nyomi, Nyomia, Nyomiah, Nyomie, Nyomy, Nyomya, Nyomyah

Origin:Hebrew

There are lots of possiblities here. Niomi is one. Good Luck!

If you don't want the traditional NAOMI, but you're saying you want N-eye-oh-mee, then spell it like this: NIOMI, it spells the way it sounds, and the A you don't like is dropped. You've just invented a different form of that name. You can spell it any way you wish for whatever sounds you want to be pronounced! It's all up to you, as to what you want in a name! Good luck!!!

Naomi is pronounced N-eye-oh-mee, but if you dont like it spelled that way, you could pick a diff spelling, like Naiomi or something. I luv that name, its originally in hebrew so thats probably why there's lots of spellings. My brother's name is Noam, (no-um) the masculine version of it, but its unisex now.) how about noam? i do like naomi better though haha good choice.

Hmm, I thnk Naomi is the standard spelling for both...I was friends with a Neye-omi, spelt Naomi, and had no problem saying it that way, but I say Nay-omi for Naomi Campbell!

I dont think its a question mispronouciation, I just think theres a variety of ways to say that name.

If you really hate the idea of her being called Nay-omi, how about Niomi or Naiomi? Naiomi looks prettier to me, but is a bit more ambigious than Niomi, get people to read it out loud, and see if they say it right!

Otherwise, call her Naomi but say it how you want when you introduce her to people, and they'll probably follow suit.

Naomi. Thats the way Naomi Campbell (model), Naomi Watts (actress) spells it. I'm sure there are a ton of different ways but I believe that to be the most common.

i think it is the same name and all in the way that it is said. Like laura either said loor-ah or lar-a (like star). You could try to spell it different maybe Niomi. I don't know if it will have the affect you want though.
