I started feeling the baby around that time. To me, it felt like the baby was blowing bubbles or like a tiny whirlpool in my lower belly.
Really hard to describe. The first kick was around 19 weeks. There was no mistaking that. It was a swift, definite 'thump'.

Hunger pangs are up in your stomach, which is at the very top of your abdomen. At 17 weeks your uterus is still pretty low, so if you'd feel movement in the bottom of your abdomen.

I didn't know that my baby was moving until 22-23 weeks. I never had that "butterfly" feeling that is always described. I waited and waited for it. Instead I felt a little "pop" or "tap" here and there. I was so busy waiting for the "butterfly". I wasn't until my u/s at 22 weeks that I put the two and two together. I think it's different for everyone.

I was convinced I could feel my son moving at about 15 weeks, but my doctor kept telling me it wasn't possible. At about 18 weeks I started feeling bubbles bursting in my belly and that was my son kicking. It doesn't really feel like hunger pangs. It's actually quite difficult to descibe until you feel it. Good luck

I felt my first movement at 16 weeks but thought it was gas. As you get farther along you'll be able to distinguish whats what. I never felt butterflies, my babys movements are more like gas bubbles.

I felt butterflies at 17 weeks. By 20 weeks the butterflies were getting stronger and stronger.

It feels like a butterfly trapped in your tummy. I'm at 24 weeks now and I can feel the kicks getting stronger. Very cool.

It will feel like asmall ball or fist is rolling around inside your stomache sometimes down towards your pelvic and your belly will harden in the area that the baby balls up in and you usually do feel pressure or somewhat discomfort but its all so worth it in the end. Good Luck.

The first movement is unmistakable -- it feels just like a butterfly flutter just below your navel. And its a wonderful feeling!
