Is it just me or does it seem like more and more people not only choose not to have children or worse, look down on those who do have or want to have children? Have the terms "Breeder" and "Moo" been around always or is this a product of the feminist movement. I for one love my son and am pregnant with my second baby, so I am shocked at how many people seem to think that having babies is a mistake, and actually work their ignorant opinions into the conversation? I wouldn't hurt someones feelings over their opinions, but they seem to want to make me feel bad.
I just think this is a relatively new phenomenon and women (and men) used to do the normal thing and get married and have kids. Its biologically right, its morally right, and its the natural way of the species, not to mention tons of fun to boot!

if you want to have children thats great, good for you. Your well within your right But it seem that you are actually looking down on people who do not want children. But have you ever stopped to think that some people don't want kids for very valid reasons. Some people aren't fit for parenthood. And some people abuse children. THOSE are the types who should never have them. How is it immoral, or selfish by not having kids. Please explain this. Thats a very broad statement. i would find people not fit or financially ready to have children and have them just so they can get government assistance or push the baby off on others immoral and selfish. Some people just know that they are not fit for parent hood so, whats wrong with that.

To have kids or not to have kids is a personal choice and everyone should respect everyone's choice.

Any true feminist knows that "motherhood" is not any less worthy a goal than becoming a scientist or politician. Real feminists actually believe that mothers should actually be compensated and supported for the hard work they do. The whole POINT is that now you are FREE TO CHOOSE and you are not FORCED to be a mother simply because there is no other option in life for you. We in the western world are very lucky that we can choose. Think about women in the third world who have no choice and the men just do not care about their welfare or readiness. There is nothing in life but to have child after child even if they are sick, poor or there is war and famine around.

I am a strong believer that children who come into this world by conscious CHOICE and planning on the part of the parents fare much better than kids who are accidents to parents who are not ready, do not want kids or cannot be good parents and are not even interested in doing what is necessary to become good parents.

Just because there are so many kids who are abandoned, abused or even those growing up with parents who still resent the fact the kids have infringed on their lives and act like the kids don't even exist or have emotional needs that need to be met, I do not agree that merely having kids is a MORALLY right. Most women can just have babies. It's a biological function.

What is MORALLY right is being RESPONSIBLE about having babies. Then it becomes something special.

Listen, do you know how overpopulated the world is right now?? Human beings have taken over so much of the earth that we are literally driving hundreds of species to the brink of extinction. People need to start having children responsibly. I have one, and I will only have one. I think that having babies could be a mistake right now. We've destroyed our global environment with emissions, the world is not in good shape right now. I love my daughter, as you love your kids. But we as a society have to be socially conscoius and make the responsible decision to stop the rapid overpopulation of our planet. And by the way, there is nothing abnormal about not wanting to have kids. Thats a very personal choice, and people make it for many reasons. Just because you want kids, doesnt mean that it's right for everyone. there are a lot of people in the world who shouldn't ever have kids, and if they choose not to, more power to them.

babies cost money, a lot more nowadays than back then, and people now arent as mature or responsible enough to take care of other beings, and mostly people are just too busy with work.
having a baby seems like settling down and people want to live life to the fullest. mostly upper middle class rich, ambitious people. also laborious families have many children for more workers and all that
two children per household seems futuristic

Wouldn't you rather have people openly declare and choose not to have kids instead of either aborting? or abusing because they can't handle them? I think you need to consider all the other options before you make your judgment. I eventually want children, but not now. I would rather have ignorant people saying they don't want kids than them having mis-behaved or rude kids. Kids can tell when they aren't wanted or loved, and that's how they will treat there kids and so on and so on.

Many people that do not want kids are selfish. They see kids as infringements upon their free time and creatures that will cost them money.
