Is there a way that my experience(s) can be converted into credit hours? What would be an example of this?

Example, 4 years active duty in the USMC, can any of this training be converted into college credit? Phys. Ed?? Anything?

Some colleges have a military science program. It is possible that your active duty might qualify in this program.

Also many degree programs require practicum (in the field experience). You may be able to get practicum credits for your service.

For better information talk to an academic advisor at your college. If you are not yet enrolled in a college you can still see an acadmic advisor at any local college. You can also call any college's 1-800#.

You will need to talk to the College you want to attend. Some actually do give some credit for work experience and training you received. It really up to the specific College how this works.

You can try it, but don't expect too much, especially at the more prestigious schools. They want to know you've passed hard, accredited units. Experience may mean something in you career, but not so much in academics.
