i broke a chanldier light in the socket, how do i get it out to replace it?

First and most important. Turn off the circuit breaker to the light. Then I take a pair of needle nosed pliers and carefully unscrew the bulb. No big deal, just be careful to make sure you are on the bulb and not the base where the light screws into. I like to spread the pliers slightly and go on either side of the center of the bulb and open them up until they rest against the outside of the bulb and twist. Once it breaks loose I just use my hands to finish the removal. Do it gently so as not to cut your fingers. Good luck

Get a small potato. Cut it in half.
You may want to let it sit it out and dry a little, so the moisture doesn't ruin the process.
Jam the potato over the broken bulb, then unscrew the potato. The broken part should come right out, if it has broken pieces lodged in the potato and if you apply adequate pressure.

I agree with Danny G BUT make sure you turn your power off , to make sure you've got no juice going to it 1st turn the light on where you can see the other bulbs lit, then go and turn the breaker for that line off, then you know there's no power to it and don't have to worry about anyone turning it on while you've got the pliers in the socket, Good luck Les the painter

Turn off the power. Now get a potato, and place it in the socket and unscrew the bulb. Make sure you turn off the power first, or you will get a baked potato.

Turn off the breaker! This is a Must! Then cut a potato in half, and push it into the broken lightbulb and unscrew.

use a apple or a potato , cut in half , turn off the power to the light , place Apple or potato on the broken light bulb twist counterclockwise , and the broken bulb should come out.
