O.k. I've asked this question in the appropriate yahoo area and didn't get one response. So i'll come to my faithful compadres in yahoo sports for help. Here is the question.
Why do people laugh when another person passes wind (farts). A small % of people will think it's gross, but come on we all do it and the majority of people laugh when we do. We even laugh at ourselves when we do it in private. We also push them out so they are louder when we are in private. We even try and fart a few lines of a favorite song, pucker up to make it sound really tight, put a lighter to it and try to get a blue flame.However, why don't we laugh as much or at all when someone burps.

People don't laugh as much at burps as we do farts because of this once simple fact: God made butts funnier than he did mouths.
In the middle of the night when I'm half asleep and I rip a good burp, I usually just go right back to sleep. However, if I let loose a good fart in the same situation I'll laugh myself crazy all by myself in the dark in the middle of the night.
Farts are hilarious and people should just come to accept it.

Farting laughs are predominately nervous laughs. Because we all let one slip now and then. Burping on the other hand is usually a conscious act. Therefore, not so funny. However, as recent scientific in depth investigations have shown!, no one should be laughing at flatulance. It destroys the ozone!! No one ever farted untill we started using fossil fuels! So the world had an abundance of clean, pure ozone. Then suddenly around 1898 or so, people found out that they could move pent up gastral pressure through their bowls. They taught this technique to their cows. Soon the world was filled with farts. This took up so much room, that the poor ozones had to relocate to accomodate the more agressive methane molicules. Unfortunately, the mother greyhound ship, only makes one stop at Earth. This resulted in a hole at the mothership stop. So, unless you are an evil person, who wants to destroy this planet, you better stop farting and laughing!!! This is very serious!!!!!

i'm in effortless terms humorous in my "genuine" existence. My funniness would not seem to translate into my writing Q & A's here. i stumble on various of persons humorous here regardless of the undeniable fact that too. i think of you ought to have a sturdy humorousness to GET what's written here regardless of the undeniable fact that. i think of all people P & S ers are some exceptionally clever people. Very smart comedy.

i hate when people fart, but i hate it even more when people complain that the bathroom smells bad. I can't understand why people expect that room to smell nice considering what that room has to put up with.
