I currently live in the states but would love to improve my Spanish so I'm considering it. Any feedback would be appreciated it.
Thanks!
P.S. My Spanish is at a beginner level. Will that affect my chances of being hired at least in Spain?

I hope that these are enough. The fact that you do not master, yet,
well enough, the Spanish language, will not be a problem. But, if you
intend to apply for a better paid job, knowing very well the Spanish
language, is a must.

You need to join one of the agencies mentioned above by others. Note that in many countries, the law does not allow easily to get a work permit if you are not a EU member... you would be an illegal immigrant, with all the risks that this involve (no health insurance and risking to be deported at any time, plus abuse from the family as you cannot address any issue with local government).

Whomever mention sexual harassment has a really dirty mind!!!! Decent people and decent family do not spend their time jumpin' each other, and a nanny living in a family and taking care of the children will only very rarely be put on the spot to have to deal with any sexual innuendo - just as in an office you would not have to. A job is a job.

What a charming question. You are wonderfully naive.

Good news---Americans are seen as being hard workers in Europe. If you go through an agency you might find something, but be upfront about your limited Spanish and stress your ability to teach young children English.

Be prepared to fight off the advances of the man/men in the house---or succumb, if you like. just know that advances will likely happen. Uh, how do I say it---sexual harassment, as a BAD thing, is a uniquely American concept.

Good luck. You made me smile---all the best, Brian

Alot of Spainards do speak English, so I doubt if it would affect your getting hired too much. Good Luck! That first Guy is a MORON!
