I think the Blues are on the right track. The hiring of John Davidson as GM last summer will ensure intelligent drafting and development of young players with which to build the franchise's future. He's already made several good trades dealing away veteran players who are past their prime for draft picks and younger players.

In addition, the hiring of Andy Murray to replace Mike Kitchen behind the bench further demonstrates JD's commitment to developing young talent. Murray is a teaching coach and this bodes well for the team's future. So be patient and hang in there. Things are definitely looking up in St. Louis... but it might take a couple more years to produce a winner.

I am a Blues fan and to me the future looks bright. They got rid of Guerin and Tkachuk for two first round picks, so that gives them 3 in the '07 draft. Tkachuck and Guerin still have the option to come back to St. Louis at the end of this season because they are unrestricted free agents. In my opinion they should stay away from these two and look to get some better free agents.

specific, i think of they'll. The team is placing out to do what the pens caps and oilers have performed in getting a reliable, extra useful youthful team. this is already obvious, as all of their gamers are youthful draft alternatives. they have come from being interior the 4th final to final interior the Western convention to a real contender. I actually have a feeling that they'll become a team like the Pens sometime interior the close to destiny, or perhaps this year they're a contenting team, this is merely that they are interior the toughest convention interior the League. in the event that they have been interior the eastern conferene precise now, theyd be tied for 9th !!!!

I'm not as optimistic as the people who are saying that it'll only take a year or two for the Blues to contend for a playoff spot, but I'm nowhere near as pessimistic as the people who are saying the Blues suck.

My forecast: 2, possibly 3, more seasons of finishing in the bottom third of the conference (11th to 15th) before ascending to the middle third of the conference (6th to 10th) and beginning another long streak of consecutive playoff appearances (over 20 years, ended by the lockout... and, unfortunately, the Blues haven't been back since).

It really depends on what they do in the offseason. When free agency opens up, they could make a huge splash by signing various marquee players. With three (And possibly four if Tkachuk re-signs with Atlanta) first round picks, and various high quality prospects (Such as Eric Johnson) in their system, they could have a bright future ahead of them. Also, re-signing Legace and Brewer to long term deals before the trade deadline allows them to worry less about their back end for the time being.

only a couple years ago they were a long stay in the playoffs (pro record of 30 years or something close to that) they will regain again, like pitsburg was 5 years ago (5 years of worst in the league) st louis will be back in a couple years.

The Blues will be all-stars next year. With their brand new players they will be ranking #5 seed or better. Joseph is an outstanding goalie, the Blues offense is incredible, all they need is some defensive players in the draft.

they might have a chance at it in 2 years. once erik johnson gets a permanent spot on the team, they will have no place to go but up in the rankings

So many things seem to be going wrong lately. It's been a few years since they started going downhill... I say, they take another year or two to become strong again, and they'll do fine.
