Honey - Latin meaning sweet-hearted (Honie, Hunnie)
It is definitely unique and pretty but I don't think I would name my daughter that just in fear of other mean kids teasing her. But it is ultimately your decision!!!! Good Luck :)

. With the whole world calling you Honey it probably wouldn't mean much for your Honey to call you Honey. Honey is usually used by very close friends, family members and lovers. If you really like it then go with Honey Bun, Honey Nut, Honey Butter or no middle name

If your question is that "Honey" is a unique first name, the answer would be, 'yes', if the baby is a boy. For a girl, I would tell you to steer WAY clear of that name because it has derogatory connotations to go along with it. When men (with less than moral values) patronize women, more likely than not, they would call them "Honey" if they didn't know her name (or even if they did!)

I don't think Honey is a very unique name especially since that movie called Honey with Jessica Alba.

The one thing people fail to consider when naming their child is whether or not they would want to go through life with the name they are planning to give to their child. So, my question to you is, would you want to be named "Honey?" If you can't answer, or don't answer yes right away, then please don't name your child "Honey." I'll never understand why people want to give their kid a name that is also a word (Ex: Hunter, Scout, Piper).

Besides, you could always give your child a normal name and just call her "honey." ....lol.

I know this probably wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but please put more thought into naming your child. Not only for your sake, but for your child's as well.

*bangs head against wall*

The meaning of the name 'honey' is obvious... but would you want to be a grown woman with a name like that? I'd opt to give her a more traditional middle name, so she has the option of going by that in her public life.

Honey? Is that the first name?
If it is, the middle name should be called
Bee as in HoneyBee!

The only time I have ever heard the name "Honey" was back in the sixties there was a detective show called "Honey West"...that was the detective's name. She was cool....

honey is unique, but i agree with the person who said kids may tease her. what about heaven, or neveah, angel, serenity, there are some good books out there with unique baby names.

as far as the guy who said the name makes the person, so untrue. my name is what you call "ghetto" and i don't act i like that. i conduct myself with class, i act like the educated young woman that i am. I am in college and am not some highschool drop out with four kids, three babies daddies and on welfare. just because my name is shameika does not mean i have to act "ghetto" or ignorant. I am quite sure there are many women with what you call ghetto name who are successful educated women. LOOK AT CONDELEEZA RICE,

oooh i don't want to sound mean but naming your child Honey? you might as well name the child pregnat by the time she is 15. see when you give a child a name like that the child will most likely act according to there name. for instance have you noticed how shaniquas and kadeshas act really ghetto and ignorant well it's because their parents decided to give them names like that. Be very careful when you name your child. ok.
