First, try starting up in Safe Mode (hold down the F8 key while the computer boots, then select Safe Mode on the menu)
Log on as administrator and run the restore program
(Start // All Programs // Accessories // System Tools // Restore)
Chose "restore to an earlier time". Chose a restore point before the last time that the system worked correctly. Then follow the instructions.
Once it reboots, let it run, play around or what ever you like to do and see if it does it again
If The problem doesn't go away, then you could try reinstalling XP. You might want to reboot back in to safe mode and save any important files, just in case.
To Keep your installed programs, don't run the format option on the Installation. But, if you suspect a virus, the format option would be the best Idea. Then re-install all your software after finishing up.
Once you finish the install, make sure to to download all the MS updates, service packs and so forth that you may need.
I hope all you have to do is the System restore, but if not, I hope this helps.
Take care, Keith

a real friendly error message eh! These are often caused by faulty memory,if you have two memory sticks try taking one out and see if matters improve,if they dont put that one back and take ou the other. Your machine will run slower of course while there's only half the memory there. If you boot to your windows CD it will start the install program. If your looking for a clean install then when you get the oftion to delete the existing partition take it and push D

man this is a very difficulty situation for you, my sympathies for you. this sounds like either a bad driver 1zx32.sys as the message says. or a genuine memory problem which is hardware and many more times harder to fix. to reinstall windows put the disk in the drive and restart, if u see your desktop its wrong and ure computer isnt set up to boot from CD u can set it to do this but if your not accustomed to using bios menus and uve never reinstalled windows before then your better off calling a pro technician.
if u want ill help u email me on myles.wolfers@sky.com and ill try email u bk instructions as fast as i can, but im very pressed for time, and im not actually a technician or qualified to help but im just smart if my instructions break your computer i dont accept responsibility. thats y ure best off calling a pro. but i can tell u how to boot from the cd and possibly how to run it.

ok if you have the windows xp disk make sure you still have the 25 digit activation key
here is how you do it..
on start up enter bios or set up.find boot sequence and set cd rom to boot first.exit saving all changes insert disk and restart computer.if you did it right it will boot from your cd.When it gets to install windows choose delete partition.follow the key strokes to delete partition then when you are back where you started hit enter to set up windows.set .select your partition type.then it will load files after format is done then it will restart.when it restarts select boot from hard drive.then from there just follow the directions...good luck

Sounds like a system crash to me. The "blue screen of death" they call it. I would most likely reformat the computer. Pop in your xp cd. and it will give you an option at boot to reinstall and reformat. Advice for after this. Get a virus protector and spyware protector. That is what most likely caused this problem.
