Basically the url is address or location of the photo. If you find a photo on the interenet you like, and you want to upload it, right-click on it, select properties, and the image address or url should appear. Copy and paste that into the image upload box and the image should be uploaded. Technically this isn't uploading, but kind of like giving a shortcut to the image.
The browse button should allow you to browse your computer or whatever for an image. The url will be the address of the photo you have. e.g. c:\mydocuments\mypictures\picture.jpg
To get that address, copy the address from the address bar at the top of the page, put a backslash on the end of it, and type the name of the image, eg. picture.jpg
Images are most commomnly .jpg files but can also be .jpeg, .bmp (bitmap), .gif, .png, etc.

Like a URI
* in popular usage, it is a widespread synonym for Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) — many popular and technical texts will use the term "URL" when referring to URI;
* strictly, the idea of a uniform syntax for global identifiers of network-retrievable documents was the core idea of the World Wide Web. In the early times, these identifiers were variously called "document names", "Web addresses" and "Uniform Resource Locators". These names were misleading, however, because not all identifiers were locators, and even for those that were, this was not their defining characteristic. Nevertheless, by the time the RFC 1630 formally defined the term "URI" as a generic term best suited to the concept, the term "URL" had gained widespread popularity, which has continued to this day.

Hi,
URL stands for Universal Resource Locator. To simply things you may think of it like an address of a file where it resides. For example if you have a picture of yours saved in d: and suppose the name of your picture is sillygal.jpg
So the URL of the file would be d:/sillygal.jpg
Alternately you can also use the button called browse, and select the file which you want to upload...
If you need any help you can add me on yahoo messenger, my ID is sagar3086@yahoo.com

A URL is like www.yahoo.com
*So, if your pic is on the web, view it, then copy and paste the characters in the address bar and put it in the text box... such as yahoo.com/coolpic.jpg
*If it isn't on the web, go to www.imageshack.us (or any other image hosting site) and you can upload the photo. It will supply you with a URL to put in the text box there.
Hope this helps!

URL stands for uniform resource locator and looks like this: http://www.google.co.uk - URL for google
So if you uploaded the pictures to say imageshack (http://imageshack.us). It would give you a image URL link. You then use that for whatever you need it for

It want you to host your images somewhere else and provide the link to the images on that site. In order for them to be displayed they have to be hosted on another server. That site you see only references the images, not host them.

it is the location of the picture, for instance if your picture is on a website somewhere or hosted somewhere it would be
http://www.websiteaddress.com/locationofpicture/picturename.jpg
or
the location of the picture on your computer
mydocuments/mypics/picturename.jpg
