I am trying to get into Competition(comp.) band, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to spin/twirl a drum stick? Many People I have talked to in school have said it is hard to explain, so i never got an answer lol.

hold the center of stick between index and middle finger ( yeah its hard to explain) it shouldnt be perfectly balnced so one end should be heaiver so you sorta use your pinky, ring and middle finger and barely push the stick down and wait for it to come back around. its mostly done by moving your index and middle fingers 2nd knuckle
