I find a balance is kind of nice. Sometimes, I might tell her she needs to eat something light and I might order her a salad. Other times, like her birthday, she can order what she wants. Sometimes, I will let her pick out an entree but she wants me to order it for her. It's all part of being a gentleman.

I let him order the appetizers and my drinks (he know what I like). As for my entree I always order for myself. Who knows he might want me to have the salad and I might want a steak. So guess what I'm a have a steak.

sorry, you "tell her she needs to eat something light"? That sounds controlling and jerky. Let her get whatever she wants! When I'm out with your girl, I always let her order herself, and order before me. THAT's what I call being a gentleman.

I always order for myself. I did let him order once and I didn't like what he ordered. That was the first and last time.

I order whatever I want. Although one year for my birthday, my husband ordered my favorite(crablegs) ahead of time as a surprise, and it was already on the table by the time we sat down. I thought that was sooo sweet!

How nice to know that you are a gentleman. When I order I tell it to my date and he is the one who tell the server our orders.

My husband asks me what I want and then he likes to order for me. I think it's sweet =) He never orders something without asking me if I want it, I would not like that! lol

Kind of sounds like "controlling" to me. I like to think that I have my own ideas and interests apart from my man. I like a "gentleman" in most ways, but I like to think for myself.
