If a man has an affair and leaves his wife and kids to be with the other woman - why would she ever want to have kids with the guy? Especially a man who settles for every other weekend visits and does not pay child support. He has shown you that he cannot be trusted and he willingly will miss the majority of his kids' lives. I don't get it. Can anyone explain??

i think they think that they are better than the spouse, that it will never happen to them, they somehow believe every lie they are told, she never thinks this will affect her life, since she feels superior to his wife. because she believes what he says, all the ugly mean untrue things.

i think you have confused alot of issues here.
my partner is a great dad. We have 2 kids together. he left his wife NOT his kids. Yes, he has weekend access but there are other forms of communication, and just because you live in the same abode does NOT guarantee that you have open communication with your kids. he pays child support.
The truth is that his ex interfere's with his ability to see the kids depending on her mood....we have had to call the police to come to the pick up just so we could gain access to the kids.
Using the kids as a weapon is NOT fair.......FOR THE KIDS !! sure, it hurts us but the real damage is to them.
i trust him totally but ours was not your typical lurid affair, 2 weeks after meeting me, he sat down with his wife - told her he was not happy - told her he had met someone else - and moved out that night. we had issues but we worked through them and have been together 8 yrs.
i think the problem men are the ones you hear about who have a girlfriend held in check with the promises of :~ i love you......i want to marry you........
but are full of excuses about why they can't commit :~ i want to move out but...... now's not the right time.......... i'll talk to her (meaning the wife).....the children won't cope........etc.
the man has no intention of leaving his wife - she thinks they are both happy - but he wants his cake & eat it too !!

The other woman thinks she will change him. Let's see how things are in about 5-6 years from now. She'll be asking the same question.

She doesn't care, if she did she would have not hooked up with a married man.
Please, Instead of focusing on the other women, why don't you heal your broken heart? You are wasting your energy on them and not healing yourself. Resentfulness is toxic too you not them.

Who says the other woman wants to have children with this man? Maybe that's what's attractive about her. It's not the woman herself, it's what she symbolizes; freedom from a very weighty responsibility. If she does have family plans, then you must look at what she's giving this man that he's not getting at home from his wife.

They choose to ignore the facts and believe that they can change the person. That it was the wife fault their marriage didn't work.
Most importantly some of them are ignorant and selfish.

I think think that some people love a person based on the mask that is presented to them and not the character of the person. The mask is what I want you to see, my character is who I really am.

"Other" men and women in this case want to feel like they are equal with the spouse that the cheater left to be with them. They convince themselves, thought, that someone, they have the 'magic' touch, and the cheater will NOT cheat on them; it will be DIFFERENT.
But, of course, it's NOT different-this is how we have 'serial fatherhood'.
I believe all of it is a low self esteem.

There are lot;'s of gullible people out there, men and women alike..Bottom line, kids are the ones who suffer. Women are more apt. to fall for losers that avoid their responsibilities and children..

Because she believes his lies. She believes him when he says that the X wife took all his money so he shouldnt have to pay, She believes all his bullsh!t and he gets away with it. Its pretty sad.
