Babies are full term from 37 weeks, up to 42 weeks when they will generally induce.
So the conception date is pretty unimportant, and really isn't strongly related to when the baby arrives.

I have a 4 month old baby boy. He was due on November 8, 2006 and didn't make his grand appearance until Nov. 18th. According to the doctor he was just at full term. It was hard for me to determine the conception based on my periods because I am not regular. I think for the most part they are pretty accurate..best of luck being a mommy rocks wether they are early or late!

Yes it does mean the dates were wrong if they come a few days either side of your due date. the date they give you is only a estimation and not accurate at all. Im due on the 22nd of april with a little girl! Congrats on your pregnancy!

Not necessarily, the due date is also dependent on how long your cycle is.
Also, the baby is considered to be term from 37 weeks onwards and although doctors prefer to have the baby out by 42 weeks, research shows that there does not appear to be any harm to the baby letting you go on until 44 weeks.

The due date is calculated by the following formula, the first day of your period plus 7 days is the due date. This is just a rough guide to delivery dates. Whether a baby arrives on time is due to a number of factors one of which is a genetic predisposition to be early or late which is carried by the father. So.......yes its the mans fault if your baby is late!!
Good luck.

No. Do a little research and you'll discover that "40 weeks' is just an estimate! "Full term" babies are born between 38-42 weeks...so your due date is "give or take two weeks."
Also, something like only 1 in 20 babies are actually born ON their due date.

No, it just means that your baby will come whenever he/she wants to. There is no rule that every single pregnancy should be a certain amount of days long, and a baby will come when ready.
Two years ago, my due date was April 23rd, but my Angel was born four days late on the 27th

Your due date is just an estimated and educated guess by your doctor. It's calculated based on a 28 day cycle and most women's cycles aren't 28 days. The actual due date is determined by the last day of your menstrual cycle, which obviously isnt the day you conceived, so it isnt 100% accurate.
I read that only 20% of babies actually come on their due date, so that should tell you something. =)

Could be the conception date - but full term could be from 37-42 weeks so just be patient - it will come when ready!
If it's your first it is more likely to be overdue, so settle back for a couple of weeks of peace and quiet!

Not necessarily babies can come upto an entire month early and be perfeclty healthy and big and have noproblems nad sometimes they come late and are just fine as well. Its' more of like a month give or take and anything inbetween is usually just fine and it really has nothing to do with your dates unless they were in question before hand.
