aww... Thank you! :D

It's good to know that not all men are swept up with the magazines and the models and the prn-stars into thinking that every woman should be a size 8 with double d breasts... You're a great man with his feet on the ground and I'm sure your girl will appreciate you!

However, you can understand why we girls worry about our weight right? As you point our yourself, *to you* we don't look bad with a bit of weight, but to society we do; It's shallow and sad but I feel less attractive with my belly and my love handles and my thighs...

Keep on preaching your bigger-girls = fit girls philosophy and maybe the world will change for the better.

We're so worried because not all guys are like you. Most guys want a girl with a flat stomach, big breast and behind, with thick thighs, nice legs, nice hair (usually long), a cute face, straight teeth and everything. That's almost impossible. So when some of you guys see a girl and she doesnt have some or all of that, you might not be interested in her because that's what some guys want in a girl. So since that's what some want, some girls try to fit that category, and if a girl doesnt fit that or have any of that, she get made fun of sometimes. Even girls make fun of other girls that have a little extra. ALthough, i dont think girls should focus on their looks that much, because if the guy didnt like you the way you want before and now that your body has changed, he never really wanted you in the first place. Another reason might be because in music videos and magazines and models are always slim and sometimes busty; some are even trying to lose weight and end up being bulimic and anorexic. So when girls are often surrounded by that, they might feel as if they're left out and want to be slim too.

Well, i just feel like im so BIG all the time. The only reason why we care is becuase of fashion magazines...peer pressure and guys. We can never tell which guys like what.

What age group are we looking at here?

Well you are in luck, i happen to have a tummy...its not big or anything and i do not consider myself skinny by any means, but im certainly not overweight. I guess I would look bigger if I wasnt so tall or if my hair wasnt as light and long.
But yay i am glad that someone my age can look at every size girl and think good of them :)

oh and i guess i am worried sometimes that people will judge me, i used to be big in middle school, and then i lost 25 lbs or so, im still a little "thick" but peoples jaws dropped. Whenever i look in the mirror i still see that fat little girl that used to get dirt kicked at her! :( its sad, but makes me lol

I was brought up on the belief that if there was any flab or fat on the body one was very ugly. My mother believed that if I weighed over 120 lbs I was obese ( I am 5' 6"). I grew up very athletic and trained for ROTC. I would do 300 situps, 140 lunges, and run seven miles every day. I could not eat much and would have to go on rice or oatmeal diets to keep my weight down. I thought that if I weighed too much men would find me disgusting. I hated myself.

When I got married I got pregnant soon after and despite excercise and careful eating I started getting toxemia and went from a healthy weight of 145 to 234. It was horrible and there was nothing I could do about it. Now I weigh 185 and have to shop at Lane Bryant. Only being with my husband for over two years and having him support me has helped to get over the image problem.

I have to say, I think the problem is men's expectations and the media's obsession with thinness, and women's reinforcement of these standards on their friends and daughters. I hate to sound unoriginal but it is so true.

Why do you think woman are worried about their weight? Look at all the magazines and telegram programs that practically tell you its not okay to be fat. And when men are fat and are in their swimming trunks at the beach then people don't say bad comments about them. But when I woman with fat is at the beach in her bathing suit people are disgusted. What is up with that. It is what the world has come to. Its not womans fault it just what television and advertisments has done to people.

Probably cause most of the guys i have known are assholes and big *** liars. Since they lie so much how do we know when they are telling the truth? Maybe you gus can prove to us woman just how beautiful we are if you mean it. Most woman dont have confidents, thats why they pack make up on their faces.

dude it's influence from Hollywood, girls are taught to look skinny to be accepted which is not realistic. Just look at magazines out there, the models are electronically enhanced by computer so the picture looks too good.

I'll put it this way--pregnancy gave me 60 extra pounds. My husband still loved me. I lost 80 pounds. My husband still loved me. Now I've gained 35 pounds with this current pregnancy. My husband still loves me and considers me sexy.

It bothers me most that we have gone from idolizing HEALTHY stars like Anna Kornikova who has a healty, toned body instead of stars like Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan who are nearing the size zero mark!
