im a little bit lost, but if the problem is 7 2/5 + 1 2/5 then the answer is 8 4/5. 2/5 & 2/5 have a common denominator so you just add the two top numbers. and 7+1=8. thus, the answer is 8 4/5 :)

7 2/5 + 1 2/3
add the whole numbers 7 + 1 = 8
change fractions to same denominator = 2/5 = 6/15 and 2/3 = 10/15
6/15 + 10/15 = 1 1/15
1 1/15 + 8
= 9 1/15
you are correct!!

Leave out the fractions for a moment. What is 7+5? Twelve right? Then look at the fractions, add the tops 2+3=5 and it is over 5, 5/5. Five over five = 1. Add that to your whole numbers of 12 =13

The answer is 13. Split it up, adding the fractions first, then the whole numbers, then add those numbers together. 7+5=12 and 2/5 + 3/5=1 and 12+1=13.

7 2/5 + 1 2/3
what you do, is you make the 2 fractions into improper by multiplying the denominator with the whole number then add the product by the numerator. the result will be the new numerator and the old denominator is still the same.
so, 7 2/5 = 37/5
and 5 3/5 = 28/5
adding the 2 fractions gives you:
65/5 which equals 13!

lol... no.. its 8 4/5.
2/5 + 2/5 = 4/5
7+1=8
if it was 7 4/5 + 2 2/5,
4/5 + 2/5 = 6/5, = 1 1/5
7+2 = 9 + 1 1/5= 10 1/2
just another example
